Silence Sound Silence. Moments of silence can always help us to come into our power and to gather ourselves. The quality of this silence is determined by sounds and images that resonate within it. The quality of silence in turn determines the energy of sounds and images we create. Sounds and images are forms of energy that resonate as frequencies in everything.
With my musical and audiovisual work I want to contribute to peaceful, joyful and inspired silence after sound.
The year 2020 I spent mostly outside Hamburg in nature and "listened" there - into the forest and into myself. This resulted in an intense engagement with frequencies, rhythm and energy.
At the beginning of 2021 I built a small music studio to find musical forms of expression for the sounds of gong and percussion and for the sounds within me. These forms also reflect the musical influences in my life, ranging from classical, jazz, punk, new wave, new age, funk, reggae, dub to electronic music (EDM, ambient, minimal techno, downbeat). And they include my great joy in playing with different "packages of silence" (that's what Mickey Hart calls it in his book "Magic Drum").
With great joy of discovery, an open heart and an open mind, I am walking a path that is new to me and I am deeply grateful that I am allowed to follow it.
